Scripture and Prayer Topic: Peace

Scripture: Job 22:21-22

Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you. Accept instruction from His mouth and lay up His words in your heart. (Parade.com)

Prayer:

Peaceful Fruit of the Spirit, rid us of ourselves. Instead, lead us to your heart, your love, your peace. May we surrender all that we are or feel we have needed to be for those on earth; and, simply kneel to find rest in your presence, at your feet, your mercy, your cross. Thank you always, for holding sacred space for us… where and how no one else can.

Personal/Professional Growth Tool Suggestion:

Take a few moments to do Tai Chi to center and calm your energy flow. You’ll feel mentally clearer and more equipped to focus on the rest of the tasks of your day.

Coping Skill Suggestion:

Spend time with animals. Don’t have a pet you can stroke gently to feel the calming effects? Ask a friend if they would appreciate someone they know & trust walking their pet, daily, weekly, or even monthly. Volunteer at an animal shelter, animal rescue center, or doggie daycare, if possible. Check with local pet therapy centers, like equestrian therapy, things as simple as cleaning empty stalls, scrubbing feed and water buckets, or brushing the animals can be very therapeutic. They are almost always short on volunteers for these types of programs. Not for you? Visit animal parks, even if it’s your local town park, where you can usually lose track of time watching the silliness of squirrels playing tag and being silly. (PS, if you take nuts to offer them, please make sure they’re not seasoned! Please do not feed bread to birds, as their systems cannot process it and it affects their ability to fly; because, over time, it damages the bone structure… including within their delicate wings.)
