Scripture and Prayer Topic: Happiness

Scripture and Prayer Topic: Happiness

Scriptures:

Psalm: 37:4

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm: 126:2

Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.

Prayer:

Dearest Creator of things large, small, and every size in between... may we greet each day remembering the jubilance of the earliest moment in our lives we felt the purest seeds of love and joy, you planted so freely. Help us embrace that most precious gift, deep within our hearts, and raise it up in ourselves… if it’s been buried, to be a beacon for others to follow. When we remind or lead others back to greater faith in your unwavering love, your Light… the level of happiness felt can only be described as glorious… and we praise you, your name, forever. Amen.

Personal/Professional Growth Tool Suggestion:

Wash your clothes. Watch them washing… even if it means simply washing a few napkins, handkerchiefs, or scarves, by hand. Watch the basin filling with water. It simulates how sometimes our workload can feel overwhelming, looks or feels like we’re going to be completely covered, or drown. Then, the spinning begins, we co-mingle with others with whom we work… and pray there’s enough water to clean and rinse... (or praise us) all clean by the time the laundry or our work tasks are completed. But, clothes are inanimate and don’t care or worry about those things. We; however, often do. We need to remember before going into overwhelm, there are things we can do to mitigate our need to worry so much. We can adjust the water level, water temperature, and spin speed for our laundry loads. We can also adjust how clean and stress free we keep our hearts and minds in the workplace by being prepared with whatever supplies, personnel, and complimentary services we may need to collaborate or hire externally… much like choosing the right detergent, and adjusting the washer settings for each load of laundry we need to do. Choose well.

Coping Skill Suggestion:

Find some fish to watch swimming around in the water. If you cannot go to a creek to see minnows, fish, crayfish, frogs, etc. see if any of your friends has a tank they could either send you a 1 minute snippet to just watch the carelessness and scurrying of the water creatures. Use it as a remembrance there are ebbs and flows, and stressful times to scurry for most creatures who are alive. But, times always return to a place of grace, ease, and flow for enjoyment.
