Scripture and Prayer Topic: Courage

Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. (walkinlove.com)

Prayer:

Lord, help us to remember when we come to you during the periods of rain, you will provide the ark to guide us home; in times of drought, it is you who send the rain and the fruit that quench our thirst; and you who calm the wind and flame. May we always praise you, for the many ways you walk beside us, lifting us, carrying us… when we need your love. Amen.

Personal/Professional Growth Tool Suggestion:

Plan an office fall festival for the kids of the office/workplace employees, a nearby shelter or assistance facility, or group home… perhaps for seniors. It will foster teamwork in a different goal arena and perhaps create an interest and camaraderie that could lead to an annual, biannual, or quarterly community awareness program… fostering a whole new level of teamwork and communication.

Coping Skill Suggestion:

Call a friend or several and go to a farm or an orchard near you to go apple or pumpkin picking, walk a corn maze, or just enjoy an autumn festival with fresh fall pickings. Just getting out in the fresh air and doing something with friends can boost brain activity and chemicals like serotonin, endorphins, etc. Alternately, you can begin a morning buddy walk routine and perhaps do zoom or Facebook Messenger Live video and chat over coffee with a friend, if you cannot travel to do things in-person.
