Scripture and Prayer Topic: Courage
Scripture: Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, forgive us in those moments we feel less than courageous. Forgive us when we shrug off others who call us courageous, when we BElieve we have done nothing outstanding; but, to have simply put one step in front of another… after each life struggle or challenge. Help us to instead, own that we press on through adversities, challenges, and fears; because underneath it all… we have faith. We have faith in you, and feel the same faith, hope, and love you have for us and placed within us… for one another. Amen.
Personal/Professional Growth Tool Suggestion:
Ask to shadow someone in their position to learn the ins and outs of a different position which may lead you to appreciate that individual a little more than you had, previously. Alternatively, you can have a conversation with the individual over lunch, to inquire about how their life story developed into them being in that position. Ask them how the position measures up to their initial perceived notion and things they’d do to improve it and/or working conditions, if they could.
Coping Skill Suggestion:
Teach someone how to do something you enjoy. Whether you like gardening, sports, the arts, etc. there are always people who would love to learn about pretty much any hobby. We just need to reach out, perhaps post a question or an ad for a free or low cost class to see who’s interested. You can do this live, or via one of the many Apps today… whether it is Zoom, Facebook Live (I believe they were updating to a new vision,) or one of the other Apps available… where there is a will to host a class, there’s a student willing to sign on and participate, if you advertise it in advance!
