Scripture and Prayer Topic: Divine Empowerment

Scripture: Galatians 6:9

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Thoughtcatalog.com)

Prayer:

Divine over the heavens and the earth, give us strength in each moment of doubt. Help us to not perceive doubt, struggle, or trials… whether internal or external... as a weakness. Help us to remember the inner turmoil also felt by others you sent incarnate… Jesus, Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi, and more. May we drop to our knees in prayer, look around, and recognize the earth angels you place on our daily path and reach out to them for help back to our feet when we need help. Thank you for those Gifts. Amen.

Personal/Professional Growth Tool Suggestion:

Have everyone in your workplace who wants, can, and is willing to participate bring in a picture from their youth, preferably from being a baby through five years old. Have someone who wants to be “the delegate,” collect, number the pictures to protect identities, and label and post the pictures onto a board for a week or so to give everyone a form to see who can guess the most photo identities correctly. This can be a fun way to start conversations with some folks with whom we may not have interacted and can be a nice neutral icebreaker. We can also learn more about one another’s upbringings for a greater understanding of one another’s life stories. Remember to not push those who may not want to participate in bringing in a picture, for there may be traumatic events involving pain for them. Perhaps offer to go for coffee or to a park to offer a sacred sharing space, if you feel so inclined.

Coping Skill Suggestion:

Instead of getting stuck inside of our own problems and minds, reach out to someone in your periphery who seems to be disconnected, distracted, etc. This can even be just noticing someone in a convenience store who may be seemingly lingering, who may only have that outing as a measure of being around any other person. Imagine the value or sense of worthiness that one interaction might have in a life. You just might save a life, whether you know it or not… reaching out in your time of need to help another will warm two hearts. Two “Good n’ Gooey Centers” are surely better than one!

There have been wars... where soldiers stopped fighting to honor one another's religious holidays. IMAGINE if we simply reached out to honor every one, every day. When we choose to live in faith and love over fear of lack, wars cease. It really IS that simple. Humans like to make life out to be more difficult than it truly is.
