Scripture and Prayer Topic: Gifts
Scripture: Philippians 2:13
For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. (ESV)
Prayer:
Lord, please help open our eyes, early, to those who choose to weave or deceive; so, we may know with whom we shall walk forward, wholeheartedly, on the path in honoring the love you ask us to pour out into the world and among your people, your children. Amen.
Personal/Professional Growth Tool Suggestion:
Go to an open mic night, with your co-workers. Encourage those who have gifts in the arts to share them, publicly, with your support. It often offers an opportunity for the most shy or introverted among you, to be better understood… often showcasing a more independent thought process. Offering that person/those people a bigger voice within your organization, may often be the spark of originality that could elevate your business or the lives of others within your organization who are secretly struggling.
Coping Skill Suggestion:
Go to a waterway and just watch the life fluttering about, just below the water’s surface. It’s funny how focusing on the movements of another living creature can teach us so much. Are the creatures scurrying frantically about? If so, why do you think they are? Afraid because they see you? Outrunning a nearby predator or afraid of the plume of dust they are causing, in their own frantic behavior? Are they simply gingerly swimming around, content in knowing they are safe, no matter what happens? Do they choose to remain calm, and enjoy whatever time and place they exist? Funny how humans like to think we are above all creatures; yet, upon closer inspection, we are often exhibiting similar behaviors/traits.
