Scripture and Prayer Topic: Strength
Scripture: Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him.
Prayer:
Lord, though we at times feel weary and weak, help us to remember we are never alone. May we remember as our creator, we can always turn to you to lighten the load in our hearts and on our minds… for these are not just our burdens to bear. You see and feel all that we do. May we remember to lay our burdens down in your outstretched hands as we sit at your feet, feel your loving touch on our shoulders as we honor your call for us to return home to you, your unwavering, unceasing love. Amen.
Personal/Professional Growth Tool Suggestion:
Share with your coworkers what your dream room would look like if you could build, buy, and decorate it any way you pleased, and why. You could make this a game by posting them anonymously, paying a dollar to try to “win the pot” by seeing who can guess the most correctly… or give the winner a day off for knowing the most about their coworkers!
Coping Skill Suggestion:
Go to a public place. A park, a mall, a restaurant, a bookstore… somewhere you can interact with other people, even if it’s simply to say, “Hi.” Maybe make or find some sort of token of well-wishing to offer such as a small stone or piece of wood with an inspirational word or phrase on it. You never know what kind of day someone else is having and how one simple smile or gesture just might save someone’s life or totally change someone’s life trajectory for the better.
