Scripture and Prayer Topic: Surrender

Scripture and Prayer Topic: Surrender

Scripture: James 4:7

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Prayer:

Blessed Divine One, during those times our words and intentions are misconstrued by those who do not take the time to understand us, may we remember how much patience you have had with us… for the same. May we choose to honor those moments of meekness to rise stronger… not settle into any possible projections of weakness. We shall stand steadfast in our faith, hope, and love, with you. Amen.

Personal/Professional Growth Tool Suggestion:

Learn about what skills your co-workers have as far as minor home improvements or repairs or crafting skills and take that list and compare it to a list of small home repairs or improvements employees need. Then, schedule folks who know how to do a task to help those with the matching needs and pair up with those who would appreciate learning the skills being taught or used for the repairs… so they can learn to do a task for themselves in the future. It’s amazing how time investing in teaching and learning new skills is something that has been long overlooked. Kids aren’t afraid of asking for help, so, why are humans!?!

Coping Skill Suggestion:

Invite neighbors to share beverages and see if anyone is interested in participating in a dinner share program. Each family that wants to participate prepares a favorite dinner; but, prepares an extra dinner batch for the other families participating. Ideally, have each family bring a smaller dinner sample to the first meeting, after ensuring no two families will bring duplicates… to ensure everyone is on board with an agreeable menu. You may then pair up folks to swap meals on certain nights. That will create one night a week, each family simply has a meal they can reheat, rather than spend all the time preparing an entire meal.
