Scripture and Prayer Topic: Thunder
Scripture: Job 37: 4-5
After it, a voice roars: He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain the lightning when His voice is heard. God thunders with His voice wondrously, Doing great things which we cannot comprehend.
Prayer:
Lord, we thank you for the rain, thunder, and lightning when they come. May we receive them for the lessons and blessings they are meant to be for each of us, in our relationship with you. May they remind us, no matter the turbulence around us… you, your love, your grace… can always be found stable or steadfast within us. Amen.
Personal/Professional Growth Tool Suggestion:
Have “Thunder Days.” At least once a month, or quarter, have a meeting where coworkers can air grievances about the workplace; but, do so in the spirit of constructive criticism and problem solving to build “spirit of the heart” to create more unison within the workplace.
Coping Skill Suggestion:
Have or attend a drum circle. If no one plays drums or wants to play, you could alternatively have a support circle where an object or symbol is passed around the circle to those who wish to be courageous enough to share a vulnerable space or needs to share something weighing heavy upon their heart, on a particular day. All attendees need to respect and honor a code of respect and confidentiality, before being permitted to attend/participate, and respect it as an equal opportunity sharing group, not meant as in-depth counseling for those needing or wanting those services. It’s more about unifying in a helpful, health-full spirit.
