Letting Go of Expectations

Imagine how natural splendors and wonders in “the great outdoors” would look, if wildlife treated the earth... as humans do. How would things look, if “all creatures great and small” suddenly began thinking in terms of doing to have... to outdo their neighbors, their co-workers, the ones they perceive as “less thans,” etc.?

Contemplate... instead of complimenting one another's' lives by sharing downed trees, stumps, branches, and twigs… how would the forests or wooded areas we visit, the natural or critter-built dams we see in waterways, etc... look, if the critter world felt they had to build entirely new structures, rather than repairing what they already have; have all new building materials built by others, “perfectly manicured lawns” all built and tended with toxic materials with no regard for the health of their families, neighbors, and cohabitants… so long as they appeared “prosperous.”

Then, imagine every dwelling as a monstrous mansion… like we’ve all seen owned by “the Joneses...” even homes for tiny insects, would be huge mansions on a human scale. How much space would be left for the beauty we seek when we humans go to these wooded or forest sceneries, waterside retreats, etc. for our respite or soul connection with Mother/Father earth?

Now, can you put yourself in the hooves, paws, claws, wings, and fins of the critters to whom we do that very thing? Yet, so many of us become upset when we falsely believe or interpret the adverse behavior to be the critters encroaching upon our homes and our human lives… forgetting our duty to all of humanity is to also coincide peacefully, with all willing to receive that Divine love from above… which includes the critter world.

There are natural pest-deterrent plants, herbs, etc. we can organically seed to aid in repelling the destructive critters’ visits; but, critters don’t have the same options, with our human encroachments and destroying of their habitats. We can choose to let go of our expectations for the critters to stop approaching our properties or destroying our things when it was they who had always resided where we chose to build/live… giving no thought to destroying their lives, totally uprooting, even killing, so many.

We can choose to let go of the expectation we have some blanket right to do so, rather than choosing to fix what we’ve already taken from them and other humans. Maybe we should even question why we feel the need to disparage societies and cultures that don’t feel the need to disperse so widely; but, learn to communicate healthily, cohabitate multigenerational; and truly show support to one another. We can lose the expectation of disposability and live more responsibly in our creation.
